About this program
Embolden is excited to bring together a select cohort of community foundation professionals for a six-week educational and practical program to learn and implement strategies to advance a community foundation’s marketing efforts. The goal is to increase the community foundation’s reach among current and prospective donors and fund holders, professional advisors, nonprofits, civic leaders, and the general public.
Facilitators
The sessions in this program are faciliated by Kelli Cavey and Laura McKnight, both of whom are former estate planning attorneys and also held executive-level leadership positions at large community foundations. They’ve been in your shoes!
Ideal participant
The ideal participant is a community foundation professional responsible for all or part of the marketing and communications functions, regardless of tenure, who is seeking to refresh and deepen the community foundation’s approach to marketing and communications.
Learning objectives
Examples of learning objectives and session agenda items include:
Better understand the development process with donors, fund holders, and professional advisors through a marketing lens.
Share, learn, and role play strategies for working across multiple teams at the community foundation—juggling many, and sometimes conflicting, requests for marketing assets, events, and campaigns.
Develop skills to gently "coach" internal colleagues on the role of marketing and how it's best deployed to achieve the community foundation's mission and goals.
