Kelli Cavey

Kelli Cavey is a partner of Oakdale Strategies and also serves as a consultant on the Embolden team.

Throughout her career, Kelli has worked exclusively in the fields of estate and tax planning and philanthropic giving. She has an in-depth knowledge of the tools, techniques, and best practices that are available to support the important and unique role of community foundations. Before joining Oakdale Strategies, Kelli served as Vice President of the Omaha Community Foundation, one of the largest Community Foundations in the country. Kelli led a team that collaborated with donors and their financial, legal, and tax advisors to simplify the giving process and facilitate impactful philanthropic giving. She also oversaw the Foundation’s professional advisor outreach and training programs, including a nationally recognized Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®) program. 

Kelli created and managed the Foundation’s Impact Investing Program, providing affordable, flexible capital to nonprofits. With a passion for efficiency and process, Kelli also managed a myriad of other projects, including reviewing and updating the Foundation’s fund agreements and policies and streamlining the fund administration process.

Before joining the Community Foundation, Kelli practiced law for ten years, focusing on estate planning and tax. In addition to attaining her Juris Doctorate, Kelli earned her Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®) designation from the American College of Financial Services. She is also a Certified Advisor with 21/64 to support multi-generational philanthropic conversations. Kelli is involved in her community as a board member of several nonprofit and professional boards. She is a graduate of Class 42 of Leadership Omaha and is a Midlands Business Journal 40 Under 40 recipient.
