Sara Betnel is an Embolden web application project manager and web application architect. She is an expert in SQL and custom application programming with a focus on usability. Sara leads some of Embolden’s biggest web application projects, working with the programming, design and production teams seamlessly.

Sara has been architecting data structures and user interfaces since 1997 and designing and programming websites since 1999. Before joining Embolden, she was the sole proprietor of Bizzy Bee Design, a web design and development company that focused on helping small nonprofit organizations, particularly those in the arts.

In addition to working at Embolden, Sara is a theater artist, working with a number of Rhode Island’s theater organizations. She earned her bachelor's degree in drama from the University of Washington and recently completed her MFA in Theater Education at Boston University.
